Católica and T4EU in Brussels for EU Green Week 2024 Partner Events

Francisco Mendes-Palma, Director of the Transform4Europe (T4EU) Office at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and T4EU Outreach Leader, delivered a keynote speech at the “EU Green Week 2024 - Smart Communities: Path for Transition”. The event was held on June 13 at the Portuguese Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium.

Mendes-Palma highlighted the Alliance's strategies to boost international attractiveness in his address. “Our approach involves intensifying collaboration among partners, emphasizing governance consolidation, and implementing joint standards and new initiatives. This broad strategy encompasses not only education and research initiatives but also social and global perspectives for a truly transformative impact,” he stated. “T4EU's objectives are fully aligned with EU strategic goals, thus collaborating in transformative change, anticipating and responding to the evolving needs of our present context and the world at large.”

Beyond his keynote speech, Mendes-Palma engaged with several stakeholders and partners, including Prof. Monika Manolova from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. These meetings aimed to strengthen ties and explore further collaborative opportunities.

“Transform4Europe bases its activities on shared European values, deeply rooted in the respective regional ecosystems, educating and training knowledge-entrepreneurs as drivers of transformation – and I should underline this for the benefit of sustainable and resilient European societies”, Mendes-Palma added.

The T4EU Alliance continues to play a pivotal role in fostering innovative solutions created by a new generation of highly motivated and skilled Europeans who, aware of their cultural heritages, deliberately live the European idea, and show solidarity with all members of the European community of values. The Alliance shares a common vision for European higher education and the ambition of becoming a major player in shaping the future of Europe through a transformative approach embedded in our regions.
