Católica in Saint-Étienne: an experience dedicated to design and intercultural interaction
From 19 to 23 May, Universidade Católica Portuguesa is participating in Transform4Europe Week ‘Design in all its forms’, organised by the University of Jean Monet in Saint-Étienne, France.
Manuel Silva, from the School of Arts in Porto, Helene Hansel, from the Faculty of Human Sciences, Miguel Medeiros, from the Braga Campus, Maria Francisca Rosas, from the Católica Medical School and Matilde Correia, from the Faculty of Biotechnology, are the students selected to take part in this unique experience of sharing knowledge and culture.
The Universidade Católica delegation is headed by Isabel Vasconcelos, Vice-Rector, and also includes Francisco Mendes-Palma, Director of Transform4Europe, Ana Vidal, Director of Communication and Marketing, Maria Lopes Cardoso, Director of Partnerships, Alumni and Employability, Mónica Coutinho, Maria José Correia, Aline Villas Boas, Sara Magno and Sofia Florentino.
A total of 14 students, lecturers and members of staff are joining partners from T4EU's 10 partner universities for a week of learning and networking.
The programme dedicated to design includes moments of well-being, language classes such as ‘French for BreakFast’, courses that explore design such as Bio-Design, Design Thinking and Designing Organisations to address Societal Challenges in Territories. In addition to the courses and workshops, there are also social events and tours of the main tourist attractions.
